9/29/08--Remnants of Ike

Eventually, my readers will find me here. Our house was without power for 12 days. That was the bad news. The good news was that we got to know some of our neighbors and had several nights of block parties, eating and telling stories. A day and a half after Ike, we got a cool front so we could sleep pretty easily for a few days. Then Houston humidity crept back in and we had more trouble sleeping at night. Just as we got power back, another cool front came in, so the people still without power got another break. Today, over 2 weeks after Ike, I saw on a news site that 145,000 people in the Houston area are still without power. Such is life in the semi-tropics.

9/26/08--Power Restored!

Two whole days with power now. I have my one Euroblog in my e-mail now; I just need to figure out how to send it here. Need geek help. Somehow, I did seem to enable Outlook Express and send my one thing to the gmail account. Now I need to zap it over here and work on the next one.
Then I'll start notifying people of this blog.

9/24/08--Start-up of new blog

Readers of Eurojill, this is my new blog. I hope to add entries I think I never entered to the other one. If I can decipher the ftp stuff, I'll also add more travel photos and photos of some of my art.
Right now, I'm still waiting to get power after Ike. Hope to add more soon. Ciao. Minerva.
